$100 Million ETH Buy Detected... Binance Sees $700K ETH Inflow

Whale and institutional wallets have purchased approximately $100 million (about 136 billion KRW) worth of Ethereum, with around 709,400 ETH flowing into Binance. The simultaneous large-scale buying and exchange inflow suggest conflicting Ethereum supply-demand dynamics.
AMBCrypto reported on June 16 that a whale wallet and Abraxas Capital executed Ethereum purchases worth approximately $64.57 million (about 87.8 billion KRW) and $34.24 million (about 46.6 billion KRW), respectively. One whale wallet exchanged 5,120 WBTC and 354 cbBTC for 26,924 ETH. WBTC and cbBTC are Bitcoin-linked tokens; this transaction represents a conversion of Bitcoin-linked assets to Ethereum.
Abraxas Capital additionally purchased 13,700 ETH. Combined, these transactions totaled approximately $98.81 million (about 134.3 billion KRW), nearing the $100 million mark. Lookonchain published both the whale's asset exchange and Abraxas Capital's purchase.
However, it is difficult to definitively classify Abraxas Capital's transaction as a pure bullish bet. The firm holds short positions of 178,532 ETH worth approximately $437 million (about 594.5 billion KRW) on Hyperliquid, alongside their spot Ethereum purchases. Lookonchain noted the short position size at 178,532 ETH and about $437 million. Holding both spot buys and futures shorts suggests a risk-hedged trade rather than a straightforward bullish bet.
The Binance inflow of approximately 709,400 ETH was reported as the largest daily inflow since June. However, AMBCrypto did not specify the exact purpose of this inflow or whether it would convert to sell orders. Exchange inflows indicate Ethereum moving into exchange wallets, which could be used for selling but may also reflect collateral placement, inter-exchange transfers, or changes in storage methods.
CryptoQuant noted that newly identified exchange wallet addresses can alter historical data, meaning inflow figures alone cannot confirm actual sell pressure or market impact. The key feature of this trend is the simultaneous appearance of large-scale buying and exchange inflows. While whale and institutional purchases represent demand absorbing supply, Ethereum moving to exchanges could indicate future selling supply.
Market indicators also showed recovery trends. According to CryptoQuant data cited by AMBCrypto, Ethereum's MVRV ratio rebounded from around 0.70 during the June-July correction to near 1.0, and the realized price of approximately $2,300 was again in profit.
MVRV is the market capitalization divided by the realized value. The realized price represents the average purchase price calculated by dividing the realized market cap by supply. Both metrics provide reference data on the overall evaluation status of market participants but do not determine individual trade purposes or future price direction. The confirmed facts are approximately $100 million in Ethereum purchases and about 709,400 ETH inflow into Binance occurring simultaneously. Whether this Binance inflow will lead to actual selling and whether whale/institutional buying will continue must be verified through subsequent wallet movements and transaction records.
