Aave Proposes RWA Lending Hub for Avalanche to Facilitate USD-Linked Stablecoin Loans

Aave (AAVE) has proposed a dedicated lending hub on Avalanche (AVAX) that would allow institutions to borrow USA₮, a dollar-pegged stablecoin supported by Tether, using tokenized real-world assets as collateral. The hub's establishment and USA₮ listing require approval through the Aave DAO vote.

DeFiLlama reported that Aave Labs proposed building Aave V4's 'RWA Hub' on Avalanche. The exact launch date remains unspecified. Under this structure, institutions would borrow Tether-backed USA₮ using tokenized real-world assets like bonds or funds as collateral. USA₮ is a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Anchor Digital Bank and supported by Tether, designed to comply with U.S. federal stablecoin regulations.

Initial supported exchanges include Bybit, Crypto.com, Kraken, OKX, and MEXC. The proposal leverages Aave V4's hub-and-spoke architecture, where the hub provides shared liquidity while each spoke applies separate collateral policies and liquidation rules. This separation allows institutions' collateral risks to be isolated from core liquidity pools.

Tokenized real-world assets differ in pricing, liquidity, and repayment structure from traditional crypto collateral, necessitating distinct risk parameters. The key goal is to keep institutional collateral separate from general crypto collateral markets. Aave Labs previously proposed deploying V4 on Avalanche with one hub and three spokes: a standard lending market, an Avalanche-linked asset market, and a fiat-pegged stablecoin market. The RWA Hub will be introduced as a subsequent addition.

While Aave V4's deployment on Avalanche is part of its multi-chain expansion strategy, the proposal remains pending DAO approval. Final details such as collateral scope and risk parameters may change before final approval. Whether this structure applies to institutional RWA lending on Avalanche remains under review.
