Albuquerque, New Mexico Bans Cryptocurrency ATMs Amid Fraud and Crime Concerns
The Albuquerque City Council in New Mexico has approved an ordinance prohibiting the operation of cryptocurrency ATMs, citing concerns over fraud and criminal abuse. Under the new rule, cryptocurrency ATM operators and locations where these machines are installed must dismantle the equipment within 45 days of notification.
The ordinance also prohibits direct cryptocurrency transactions supported by cashiers.
