American Bitcoin Gets 'Buy' from BTIG...Target Price $15

BTIG has issued a 'buy' recommendation on American Bitcoin ($ABTC) with a target price of $15 (approximately 25,000 KRW). The stock was trading at $7.99 (about 19,000 KRW) at the time, making the target price roughly 88% higher. Investing.com reported that BTIG began its analysis of American Bitcoin with this investment recommendation and target price, which was published on June 16.
BTIG cited the company's mining operations and BTC accumulation structure as key factors in its assessment. The firm operates mining infrastructure in partnership with Hut 8 ($HUT) while purchasing Bitcoin on public markets. American Bitcoin disclosed in its Q2 earnings report that it held approximately 8,002 BTC as of June 30, up about 14% from the 7,021 BTC held as of March 31. The company's Q2 mining output reached around 932 BTC, exceeding the previous quarter's 817 BTC and marking a quarterly production high.
The company's 10-Q filing with the SEC also confirmed its cumulative Bitcoin holdings at 8,002 BTC as of June 30. While noting that increased Bitcoin holdings do not necessarily indicate financial stability, American Bitcoin listed price volatility, failed hash rate expansion, delayed equipment procurement, and collateralization of held Bitcoin as key risks.
Market reaction was mixed. Stocktwits reported a more than 1% pre-market increase in ABTC shares following BTIG's announcement, though investor sentiment on the platform remained 'bearish' with low discussion volume. The target price reflects BTIG's assessment of American Bitcoin's mining capabilities and BTC accumulation strategy.
