Anthropic Delays IPO to November Amid $2 Trillion Valuation Ambitions

Anthropic, the developer of AI model Claude, has delayed its initial public offering (IPO) to November, according to reports. The company plans to unveil its robust third-quarter financials before engaging investors, aiming to capitalize on its rapid growth.

The market is closely watching whether Anthropic can secure a valuation of up to $2 trillion (approximately 280 billion won), following its recent funding round that valued the firm at $96.5 billion in May. As of July, the company's annualized revenue surpassed $65 billion, up from about $9 billion at the end of last year—a more than sevenfold increase.

While Anthropic's Q2 preliminary revenue exceeded $11.5 billion, 14 times higher than the same period last year, analysts predict its annualized revenue could reach between $100 billion and $120 billion by year-end. Despite this growth, concerns over AI development speed have emerged, with CEO Dario Amodei stating that 'advanced AI can pose safety risks' and urging the industry to approach technology development more cautiously.
