Global AI development leaders are increasingly advocating for a slowdown in the pace of cutting-edge AI model creation, arguing that progress must be tempered to ensure safety and control.

Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, recently stated that AI performance improvements have outpaced humanity's ability to understand and manage them, urging developers to slow down to enhance safety. Sam Altman of OpenAI has publicly agreed with this stance, while Elon Musk has also voiced support for Amodei's proposal.

However, industry observers note that the push may not solely stem from safety concerns but could also be influenced by high development costs, investor profit expectations, and competitive pressures among companies.
