Apollo Global Management Explores $9 Billion Loan Expansion for SoftBank's OpenAI Investment

Apollo Global Management ($APO) is reportedly discussing plans to expand a loan facility to support SoftBank Group ($9984)'s investment in OpenAI, increasing the amount to $9 billion (approximately KRW 12.33 trillion), according to a report published on the 17th. Bloomberg cited anonymous sources stating that the loan size, secured against assets from SoftBank's Vision Fund 2, could rise from the current $5.4 billion (approximately KRW 7.398 trillion) to $9 billion, though no final decision has been made. Both Apollo and SoftBank have declined to comment on the report. Apollo previously provided a loan based on net asset value for SoftBank's venture capital fund in 2021, and last year increased the facility by $900 million to reach $5.4 billion.
