Apple Explores AI Server Market Entry with NVIDIA Tech Collaboration

Apple is exploring potential collaboration with NVIDIA to adopt its high-speed interconnect technology, 'NVLink Fusion,' in order to enhance the connection performance of its proprietary server chips. According to a report by U.S. IT publication The Information on October 16 (local time), Apple has been reviewing the possibility of integrating NVLink Fusion into its AI server development.

NVLink Fusion is a technology that supports connecting various components including custom central processing units (CPUs), AI accelerators, and NVIDIA's graphics processing units (GPUs) in a high-bandwidth, low-latency manner to improve AI computation efficiency. Apple's server development focuses on the 'AI inference' market for handling user requests rather than training AI models, with The Information suggesting Apple could launch such servers as early as 2029.
