Arab Economy Faces $15 Billion Loss in First Month of US-Iran Conflict

Rania al-Mashat, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), stated that the Arab economy suffered an estimated $15 billion (approximately 207 trillion won) loss in the first month of the US-Iran conflict. The loss represents roughly 4% of the region's gross domestic product. Al-Mashat made the disclosure during a UN Security Council meeting, warning that the ongoing clashes could delay broader Arab economic diversification and investment efforts. It remains unclear whether this estimated loss has translated into actual price or volume metrics in financial markets.
