Argentina to Implement CARF for Crypto Tax Information Exchange by September 2029

Argentina has pledged to begin implementing the Automatic Exchange of Cryptocurrency Transaction Information (CARF) by September 2029, as part of its commitment to adopt the OECD's cryptocurrency reporting framework. The OECD's Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Tax Information announced that Argentina will implement CARF and start automatic exchange of cryptocurrency transaction data by September 2029. Argentina has been participating in the Global Forum since 2009. CARF is an international tax information exchange standard developed by the OECD with G20 nations, requiring cryptocurrency service providers to automatically share transaction data with the tax authorities of taxpayers' jurisdictions. With Argentina's commitment, the number of jurisdictions pledging to implement CARF between 2027 and 2029 has increased to 77.
