Argentina to Share Virtual Asset Transaction Data Internationally Starting September 2029

Argentina has agreed to automatically exchange virtual asset transaction information with tax authorities globally starting September 2029 through overseas virtual asset service providers. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Global Forum announced on Wednesday that Argentina will implement the Virtual Asset Reporting Framework (CARF), beginning automatic data sharing of virtual asset transactions from September 2029.

The system aims to address tax evasion risks by enabling tax authorities to share transaction information from overseas virtual asset activities. The OECD Global Forum also noted that 77 jurisdictions, including Argentina, have committed to implementing CARF in 2027, 2028, and 2029.
