Balancer to Hold Shutdown Vote September 25-29; First Repayment Set for May 2027

Once valued at $3 billion, the DeFi project Balancer is set to hold a vote on its operational shutdown from September 25 to 29. According to CryptoSlate, the first window for BAL token holders to receive proportional financial asset repayments will open in late May 2027.

CryptoSlate reported that Balancer has proposed shutting down operations, with the potential for a phased business wind-down depending on the vote outcome. The governance proposal states that if approved, BAL token holders would burn their tokens and receive proportional distributions of financial assets.
