BDACS Joins Circle's Arc Mainnet with KRW1 Stablecoin

BDACS, a digital asset infrastructure specialist, has joined Circle's newly launched Arc mainnet as the exclusive domestic issuer of the Korean won stablecoin 'KRW1.' This positions KRW1 as the only stablecoin within Arc's ecosystem in South Korea, advancing BDACS' multi-chain strategy. Arc is Circle's new Layer 1 blockchain designed to serve both institutional and individual users with an open financial infrastructure. The mainnet launch includes new services such as lending, forex, tokenized assets, and stablecoin payments. KRW1 has completed its real-time integration and will now offer full service. BDACS also plans to expand its KRW1-based forex services through future collaboration with Circle's 'StableFX,' aiming to create on-chain foreign exchange solutions that allow domestic enterprises and institutions to efficiently utilize Korean won liquidity within the Arc ecosystem.

BDACS stated it will gradually advance issuance and services for KRW1 in line with South Korea's evolving regulatory framework for stablecoins. CEO Ryu Hong-yeol commented, 'It is meaningful that our collaboration with Arc, which began on a testnet last year, has now transitioned to live service within one year.' He added, 'As the sole domestic issuer of a Korean won stablecoin, we will expand KRW1's use cases and enhance the global competitiveness of Korea-based digital assets through on-chain forex services.'

Additionally, BDACS will co-host the 'Bridging Finance Onchain' side event at Korea Blockchain Week 2026 with Circle, Kyobo Life Insurance, and SBI Holdings on May 1. The event aims to discuss the future of stablecoins and on-chain financial infrastructure following Arc mainnet's launch.
