Binance Launches 24/7 Forex Futures Trading with Up to 100x Leverage

Binance has launched a new forex perpetual futures product that allows trading on weekends and holidays. The move expands trading opportunities beyond traditional foreign exchange market hours, enabling investors to speculate on currency fluctuations or manage risk even when conventional markets are closed.
According to Binance, the first forex perpetual futures contract 'USDBRLUSDT' will launch at 11 PM KST on April 21. The product tracks the USD/BRL exchange rate and uses USDT for margin deposits and profit settlement, supporting up to 100x leverage.
As a perpetual contract with no expiration date, positions can be held without additional rollover procedures. Investors can speculate on currency pair movements without holding either currency directly. However, high leverage means even small price movements can significantly amplify gains or losses.
Pricing varies based on market hours. During regular business days, the index price is calculated as a weighted average of exchange rates from multiple external data providers and updated every second. On weekends and holidays, Binance uses an internal order book to determine prices by calculating the exponential moving average of buy/sell orders, allowing continuous trading when traditional forex markets are closed.
Binance's Head of Derivatives, Shuniet Yan, stated that expanding price discovery beyond conventional market hours is the goal, adding that investors should be able to hedge currency risk or take positions based on market direction at any time.
