Binance Altcoin Inflows Surge to 31,800 Daily Average, 3.8x July Levels

Binance's average daily altcoin inflow transactions rose to 31,800 from 8,300 in July, representing a 3.8x increase. This follows Bitcoin (BTC) rising over 30% in several days, prompting more users to move altcoins to exchanges. Darkpost CryptoQuant analyst highlighted the U.S. Congress' CLARITY Act procedural vote and Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) interest rate decision as key variables on July 15.

Coinbase ($COIN) also saw its weekly average altcoin inflow transactions rise from 2,200 in July to 4,700. Bybit's average increased to 2,700. While the timeframes and methodologies differ across exchanges, all three platforms reported rising altcoin inflows.

Altcoin inflows refer to users moving assets to exchange wallets. This metric alone cannot confirm actual sell-off volume or the identity of those moving funds. Darkpost suggested the increase could relate to profit-taking as prices rose, though current levels are not considered unusually high. Total altcoin market capitalization grew by over $136 billion (approximately 183 trillion KRW) during the same period.

Market participants may be taking profits after rapid market expansion, but this does not necessarily mean immediate selling on Binance. Analysts emphasize that broader market trends require examining inflows alongside net inflows and spot vs. derivatives trading ratios. Previous spikes in Binance altcoin inflows were noted to not always reflect overall market movements when concentrated at a single exchange.

The U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote on the CLARITY Act procedural vote on July 15, which aims to establish regulatory frameworks for virtual asset markets. The Federal Reserve will hold its FOMC meeting on July 15-16, with market expectations pricing in a 92% chance of a rate hike. However, analysts caution that these are market expectations, not final decisions.
