Binance Opens Capital Connect Investment Strategy Platform to Individuals with $1M+ Assets

Binance has opened its Capital Connect investment strategy platform, formerly exclusive to institutional investors, to individual users with at least $1 million (approximately 13.6 billion KRW) in assets on the platform. Individual investors can now compare professional fund managers' strategies and performance data before allocating capital. The platform was previously operated primarily for institutional use.

According to CNBC, Binance announced the expansion of Capital Connect to individual investors on September 16. Eligibility requires a minimum balance of $1 million on Binance or proof of equivalent external assets. Users with VIP Level 3 status are also eligible, provided they operate within permitted jurisdictions. Binance's official guide explains that Capital Connect operates on Portfolio Account infrastructure, supporting capital management, fee calculations, net asset value (NAV) computation, and risk metrics.

Professional fund managers can operate investment strategies without establishing separate fund entities. Both individual and institutional users must complete KYC or KYB verification respectively, Binance stated in its official guide. Catherine Chen, Binance's Head of VIP and Institutional Services, said: 'Individual investors have expressed interest in accessing Capital Connect,' adding that the move responds to their demand.

As of September, 212 portfolios were registered on Capital Connect, up from 106 portfolios and 35 fund managers in May. Portfolio numbers have doubled over four months while fund manager count increased from 35 to 77. However, these figures represent platform registrations only, not performance or returns.

Capital Connect initially offered only crypto strategies, but some fund managers later added traditional financial products, broadening the asset scope. Registered fund managers include both traditional asset management firms and crypto-based quant companies, with some managing both crypto and traditional markets. Binance is also expanding its offerings of traditional finance-linked products, including perpetual futures on listed companies and pre-IPO firms without actual stock ownership.

The move reflects Binance's expansion from a crypto trading platform to an asset management and investment strategy distribution service. However, Capital Connect availability varies by country or region, and Binance does not guarantee performance or principal protection for any investment strategies. Individual users must verify eligibility requirements, permitted jurisdictions, risk metrics, and redemption terms for each portfolio.
