Binance Warns Against Scams Using Fake Listing Agents and Fees

Binance has warned against fraudulent actors posing as listing agents who demand money under the guise of facilitating cryptocurrency listings. The exchange clarified that its official listing process involves no third-party intermediaries and charges no listing fees. He Yi, Binance's co-founder, stated on 18th that project listings must be submitted through official channels only, with contact details available on Binance's official website and public channels.

He Yi also noted that while Binance may allocate airdrop tokens to projects in collaboration, such token distributions are separate from listing fees. The exchange has urged project teams and users to verify communications via official channels, as scammers often promise guaranteed listings in exchange for upfront payments or token transfers.

Binance reiterated its 2023 September announcement that it does not recognize third-party listing agents or intermediaries, stressing that only core team members—founders, co-founders, and CEOs—should handle official submissions. External consultants or agents are ineligible for consideration during the review process.

The exchange emphasized that no fees are charged for project evaluation or listing applications, though it may enter token distribution agreements with projects for marketing purposes. Tokens related to spot listings are transferred only after an official announcement, while Binance Alpha and Wallet programs operate under formal contracts requiring token transfers post-approval.

Binance clarified that receiving a submission confirmation or contacting a listed representative does not guarantee listing approval, as internal reviews remain mandatory. Users are advised to verify contact details through Binance's official verification page before engaging with any party claiming to represent the exchange. Unverified contacts demanding upfront payments or token transfers should be treated as potential scams.
