Bitcoin Core Developer Warns AI Makes Vulnerability Detection Easier

Bitcoin Core developer Niklas Gögge has warned on X that the use of artificial intelligence in vulnerability detection is transforming Bitcoin's security landscape. With the advancement of large language models, the cost of finding vulnerabilities has significantly decreased, making it increasingly likely that attackers could uncover critical flaws with computing costs as low as hundreds of dollars.
Regarding Bitcoin Core, project Loop and individual developers have generated over 1,000 vulnerability reports to date. However, no high-risk or severe vulnerabilities have been discovered so far.
