Bitcoin ETF Sees $159.9M Inflow, Assets Surpass $100 Billion

U.S. spot Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs saw a net inflow of $159.9 million (approximately KRW 215.4 billion) on September 14. Total assets under management reached $100.92 billion (approximately KRW 134.82 trillion).

Farside Investors reported that BlackRock's IBIT received $134.3 million (approximately KRW 180.9 billion), while Fidelity's FBTC saw $53.3 million (approximately KRW 71.8 billion) and Morgan Stanley's MSBT attracted $9.7 million (approximately KRW 13.1 billion). Franklin's EZBC recorded a $4.6 million (approximately KRW 6.2 billion) inflow. Conversely, ARK 21Shares' ARKB saw outflows of $42 million (approximately KRW 56.6 billion).

Although flows were mixed across products, IBIT and FBTC inflows exceeded ARKB's outflow, resulting in a net positive for the day. SoSoValue reported that as of September 14, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs' assets represented 6.3% of Bitcoin's total market capitalization, with cumulative net inflows totaling $5.5315 billion. Farside Investors' cumulative figure stood at $5.5384 billion, showing a $69 million discrepancy due to different calculation methods.

This inflow followed four consecutive days of outflows from September 8-11, during which total ETFs experienced net outflows of $46.6 million, $120.2 million, $282.7 million, and $13.2 million respectively, totaling $462.7 million over the period. The September 14 inflow represented approximately 35% of the previous four days' total outflows.

While net inflows indicate more funds entering than exiting a product, assets under management can fluctuate due to Bitcoin's price movements as well as new capital. Therefore, surpassing $100 billion in assets does not necessarily mean equivalent new capital was injected. IBIT alone accounted for $64.138 billion of cumulative net inflows, representing the majority of total ETF flows.

Product-specific flows reflect varying investor demand across ETFs. Spot Bitcoin ETFs allow investors to access Bitcoin price movements through brokerage accounts without managing exchange wallets directly. Inflows indicate creation demand while outflows signal redemption requests. Domestic investors can indirectly gain exposure to Bitcoin prices via U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs, though foreign trading hours and currency fluctuations may impact KRW-denominated returns.

The September 14 inflow appears as a rebound following recent selling pressure. Sustained demand recovery will require monitoring subsequent days' flows and asset changes.
