Ethereum declined 3.23% to $2,404.83, underperforming relative to Bitcoin amid risk-averse sentiment. Liquidations totaled $546.79 million, with long positions accounting for 84.39%. Bitcoin and Ethereum liquidations dominated at $222.27 million and $211.67 million respectively. Stablecoin trading surged 21.44% to $104.04 billion, signaling a preference for liquidity over directional bets.

Regulatory developments included Bulgaria's parliament passing the DAC8 bill requiring crypto users to submit transaction data to tax authorities, tightening EU-level tax and information-sharing rules. Domestically, potential regulatory hurdles emerged regarding D'Amico and Naver Financial's proposed stock swap involving exchange stakes and dual listings. A $7.8 million rsETH theft attempt was thwarted by MEV bots, highlighting ongoing DeFi infrastructure risks.
