Bitcoin Short-Term Holders Maintain Profit Zone for Month

Bitcoin (BTC) short-term holders have maintained a profit position for nearly a month since the market peak, according to data. Unrealized gains among short-term holdings amount to approximately $16.8 billion (about 226 trillion won), while unrealized losses stand at around $1 billion (about 135 trillion won). CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost noted on May 15 that Bitcoin short-term holders have maintained a prolonged profit status for the first time since the market peak, with the duration approaching one month. Unrealized gains and losses are calculated based on the valuation price before selling held assets. Short-term holders are classified as investors who recently purchased Bitcoin and react sensitively to price fluctuations. Darkfost also analyzed that if Bitcoin continues to stabilize above $80,000, it could strengthen signals of a market trend reversal. The condition for this interpretation hinges on whether the profit position and price level continue together. However, the analyst cautioned that short-term holder profitability alone cannot definitively indicate an end to a bear market or a shift in upward trend. Earlier reports noted conflicting interpretations as short-term holder supply share decreased while long-term holder proportion increased.
