Bitget Releases 45th Monthly Proof of Reserve Report with 122% Total Reserves

Bitget has released its 45th consecutive monthly Proof of Reserve (PoR) report, disclosing a total reserve ratio of 122%. The report details the exchange's reserves as of August 27, 2026, showing Bitcoin (BTC) holdings of 26,811 coins, Ethereum (ETH) at 123,688 tokens, USDT totaling 145.35 million units, and USDC amounting to 19.68 million units.
Compared to July, Bitcoin holdings remained largely unchanged while Ethereum increased by 10%. USDT decreased by 13% and USDC declined by 4%. The 122% ratio indicates Bitget holds $1.22 in reserves for every $1 of user assets on the reporting date.
However, the report clarifies that this figure represents a snapshot at a specific point in time and does not account for subsequent asset movements or transactions between snapshots. Bitget has been publishing PoR reports since December 2022, with this being its 45th consecutive release.
The exchange emphasizes transparency through monthly disclosures and user-specific cryptographic verification using Merkle Tree-based validation via open-source tools like MerkleValidator. Users can verify if their balances are included in the verification data.
Regulatory bodies including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Investment Education and Advocacy Division have noted that PoR is not a substitute for independent financial audits or complete financial statements. Crypto Briefing also highlighted that Bitget's 122% figure is based on self-reported data without third-party verification.
Bitget expanded its PoR verification scope to over 20 assets as of September 11, including BGB, XRP, SOL, HYPE, BNB, LINK, ONDO, ADA, and NEAR. The enhanced system allows users to view asset-specific reserve ratios, blockchain distribution, and individual balance verification status.
The protective fund's average value as of August 2026 was $382 million (approximately 519.5 billion won), with a high of $441 million ($599.8 billion won) on August 27 and a low of $345 million ($469.2 billion won) on August 1.
Bitget clarified that the protective fund is presented as separate assets, but it's unclear whether this amount is included in the overall 122% reserve ratio. The exchange stressed that PoR does not represent a comprehensive audit of all assets and liabilities, and users should verify the reporting date and scope independently.
