BlackRock Global Fixed Income Chief Investment Officer Rick Rieder, a former Federal Reserve chair candidate, said it is difficult for rate hikes alone to lower the inflation households feel, citing energy, insurance, healthcare and education as price categories that are relatively insensitive to interest rates. However, Rieder did not link this analysis to arguments against raising rates.
