BlackRock, Visa Circle Arc Security... Meme Coin Traders Anticipate Entry

Circle will open the Arc public mainnet on Wednesday, featuring 11 founding validators elected from traditional finance. Traders have already positioned for a potential meme coin boom at launch.
This structure mirrors Robinhood Chain, launched in July, which initially promoted tokenized assets but quickly saw speculative trading dominate. Circle built Arc for payments and settlement, yet the same investor group is gathering again.
Robinhood Chain set the precedent: it launched an Arbitrum-based Layer 2 on July 1, centered around real-world assets (RWA). However, individual traders steered it toward meme coins within a week. Dune data shows decentralized exchange (DEX) volume hit $563.9 million on July 8, a record high, with traders minting 16,639 tokens in one day.
Activity cooled slightly in August but rebounded, hitting $106 million daily DEX volume on August 29 and reaching $3.7 billion this month—a new all-time high.
Meme coin traders are eyeing Arc for similar reasons. Arc is Circle's Layer-1 network, backed by USDC issuer Circle, with gas paid in stablecoin instead of volatile native tokens. Designed for payments, forex, and tokenized securities, Circle raised $222 million in a pre-sale, valuing the chain at $3 billion.
The validator set includes BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, Galaxy, SBI Group, and Standard Chartered. Speculators have analyzed Arc's launchpad and mainnet ahead of its debut, expecting Week 1 trading to mirror Robinhood Chain’s meme coin frenzy.
Circle positions Arc as institutional infrastructure, with USDC already holding a $74.2 billion market cap. The first week will reveal whether banks or DeFi players enter faster.
