The Blue House stated on Thursday that it respects Kim Seung-won's voluntary withdrawal as Minister of Justice nominee. Chief Press Secretary Kang Yu-jung said in a statement that the candidate's decision appears aimed at reducing national burdens, and future necessary procedures will be carried out according to established regulations.

The National Assembly's Committee on Legal Affairs and Judiciary adopted a report on Kim Seung-won's nomination process on May 15 following a confirmation hearing led by the Democratic Party.
