BTC Decouples from Dollar Index and U.S. Markets Ahead of Fed Rate Decision

Bitcoin is showing independent movement ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision, with its correlation to the dollar index and U.S. stock markets weakening, according to a CoinDesk analysis. The media reported that the short-term correlation between Bitcoin and the dollar index has nearly dropped to zero, while the positive correlation with U.S. stocks has also weakened. Bitcoin's short-term correlation with the dollar is now +0.08, compared to -0.54 over the past 30 days. Similarly, its correlation with the S&P 500 fell from 0.75 to 0.43, and with Nasdaq from 0.60 to 0.30. The correlation with gold also dropped from 0.69 to 0.28 over the past 30 days. This decoupling is attributed to market focus shifting to the Clarity Act, which failed to pass a key Senate procedural vote, moving investor attention from traditional macroeconomic factors to regulatory issues.
