BTC Golden Cross Completion Followed by Decline, Repeating Historical Pattern

Bitcoin's golden cross—a key technical indicator of bullish momentum—has been reconfirmed, yet analysis by CoinDesk suggests that historically, prices have repeatedly corrected shortly after such signals. The media noted that BTC rose approximately 32% from $62,000 to $82,000 before the golden cross was completed this week as the 50-day moving average (MA) crossed above the 200-day MA. However, following confirmation of the golden cross, prices retreated to around $77,000 from approximately $80,000. Similar patterns were observed in 2023 when BTC climbed from $16,000 to $23,000 before a golden cross formed, followed by a correction back toward $20,000. The same trend occurred in October 2024 and was also noted in 2025. While the golden cross is generally viewed as a long-term bullish signal, it does not guarantee short-term further gains for Bitcoin. Given that moving average-based indicators lag actual price movements, by the time the golden cross is confirmed, much of the upward momentum may already have been exhausted.
