CHON Corp. Unveils Relationship-Based Identity Verification for AI Era

As AI replicates human faces and voices and AI agents operate online, CHON Corp. has unveiled a novel identity verification model based on human relationships. The company held its 'CHON Investor Day 2026' at Seoul COEX on June 16, presenting its relationship-based authentication technology and business strategy to partners, early users, industry experts, and investors.
Chairman Shin Geun-young explained that the company's founding stemmed from recognizing business opportunities in human connections. 'I couldn't give up this venture after seeing countless business possibilities emerging from relationships between people,' he said, noting six years of preparation for technology and business models. The event began with an opening statement by former Meteorological Administration Director Jo Seok-joon, who emphasized the need for decentralized information systems in disaster response, citing how reliable information saved 900 lives during a Nepalese disaster.
Professor Oh Jeong-geun highlighted South Korea's unique genealogical culture and its potential to expand into blockchain-based relationship verification. 'The traditional value of relationships in Korean society can be transferred to blockchain technology,' he said, noting the security advantages of decentralized systems over centralized servers vulnerable to hacking.
KAIST Professor Lee Byung-tae praised CHON's business model for connecting previously overlooked human relationships as a new market opportunity. Drawing parallels with companies like Airbnb and Uber that connected underutilized assets, he noted CHON's clear roadmap for global expansion after securing funding.
