CHON Unveils 'Nothing to Steal' Identity Verification Model at Investor Day

CHON Corp. has introduced a novel identity verification model where users directly authenticate relationships with each other rather than relying on platforms to store personal information and relationship data. The company aims to expand this 'trust infrastructure' beyond family and customers to include AI agents.

At CHON Investor Day 2026 in Seoul's COEX, CEO Lee Min-jae outlined the model as part of his vision for a world where 'relationships are identity.' He emphasized that unlike traditional platforms which accumulate personal data on centralized servers—making them targets for hacking—CHON requires mutual authentication between users to establish relationships. This approach makes platforms obsolete by having individuals directly own their relationship data.

Lee explained that the system builds trust through mutual verification, gradually expanding markets without intermediaries. The company is developing services like '安心콜' (safe call) to prevent phishing based on authenticated family relationships, and plans to leverage Korea's extensive genealogical data for future applications combining biometric information with relationship graphs.

CTO Gu Hong-seok elaborated on the security model called 'Nothing to Steal,' which avoids centralizing sensitive data. Instead, original information stays on users' devices while verification records are managed as hashes in a distributed ledger. This design minimizes incentives for attacks by ensuring no single point of vulnerability exists.

During the event, attendees were guided through live demonstrations using CHON's app to authenticate family relationships and access services like anti-phishing call alerts. The system uses green indicators for verified calls and red banners for suspected phishing attempts. Additional features include QR-based membership management for clubs and events where relationship data persists beyond single-use tickets.

CHON currently holds 24 patents related to its digital identity solution, with more applications pending. The company plans to expand from Korea's relational culture into global markets through local partnerships in Asia and strategic alliances in the US and Europe.
