Circle Launches Arc Mainnet with USDC Payment Infrastructure

Circle ($CRCL) unveiled its Arc mainnet on the 16th, a layer-1 blockchain specialized in stablecoin finance. According to Circle's official announcement, Arc supports USDC as network gas and provides sub-second payment finality. The platform is designed to operate tokenized assets, stablecoins, and payment and foreign exchange infrastructure within a single network.

Nikhil Chandhok, Circle's Chief Product and Technology Officer, stated that stablecoins will become 'real money,' according to Crypto Briefing. Circle also announced support for cross-currency trading between 20+ fully backed stablecoins via Arc's StableFX, as well as connecting cross-border and business-to-business payments through the Circle Payments Network.
