Clarifying Bill Amendment Released After Incorporating 126 Democratic Requests

The U.S. Senate Republican leadership has released an amended version of the Virtual Asset Market Structure Act, known as the Clarifying Bill, incorporating 126 requests from Democrats before a procedural vote scheduled for Thursday.
The amendment restricts virtual asset issuance and sponsorship by public officials and their spouses, while allowing the U.S. Attorney General to oversee enforcement of conflict-of-interest regulations.
Crypto Briefing reported that Republicans have prepared this amended version following negotiations with Democrats.
The bill is set for its first procedural vote on Thursday in the Senate, requiring 60 votes to advance. With only 53 Republican seats, the party needs at least seven additional votes from Democrats or independents to reach the necessary threshold.
