Clearpool Proposes Full Migration to XRPL for Institutional Lending Product

Decentralized lending protocol Clearpool, targeting institutional clients, has announced a governance proposal to transition its credit infrastructure to XRP Ledger (XRPL), according to Crypto Briefing. If approved, the full protocol will migrate from existing infrastructure in a large-scale migration. The proposal states that existing CPOOL tokens will be swapped 1:1 for new CLEAR tokens, with CLEAR's initial total supply set at 112.5 million and expected to expand long-term to 142.8 million. Seventy percent of the total supply will be allocated to existing CPOOL holders. Additionally, Ripple will participate as a liquidity provider in the new credit fund, which plans to offer institutional lending products based on RLUSD to fintech companies. Cicada Partners will handle credit risk assessment and borrower acquisition. Clearpool also plans to use 50% of protocol fees for CLEAR token buybacks and permanent burn to offset inflation concerns.
