Coinbase Files for US Single-Stock Perpetual Futures Listing

Coinbase ($COIN) has entered regulatory procedures to list perpetual futures based on individual U.S. stocks. Coinbase Derivatives submitted Form 1-N to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on September 1. According to a report by Unchained, Coinbase's SEC filing represents the first step toward launching single-stock perpetual futures in the U.S. The process will continue with approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Currently, Coinbase offers stock perpetuals that track prices of listed stocks outside the U.S., which allow 24/7 trading without holding the underlying shares and are settled in USDC.
