Column Integrates USDC and USDT Directly into Core Banking Systems

Column, a U.S. bank, has launched a stablecoin infrastructure that directly integrates USDC and USDT into its core banking systems, allowing for immediate 24-hour conversion between stablecoins and fiat currency by recording stablecoin addresses and bank accounts on the same ledger. The bank announced on its blog that it will provide this feature without intermediaries or pre-funded accounts as of June 16. Customers can send and receive USDC and USDT across major blockchains like Solana and Ethereum, and connect to supported fiat payment networks including SWIFT and RTP. Column also disclosed it offers stablecoin-based card payment functionality. William Hockey, CEO of Column, explained that the system enables seamless 24/7 connection between stablecoins, U.S. dollars, and domestic and international payment networks.
