COTI Privacy Features Launch on Avalanche Ecosystem

Crypto Briefing reported that COTI's privacy features have been integrated into the Avalanche (AVAX) ecosystem. Users can now switch tokens between public and private states without leaving the Avalanche environment. The report noted COTI launched Privacy-on-Demand and Privacy Portal on the Avalanche network on May 16, though no official release document detailing the scope or supported assets for the Avalanche mainnet was confirmed.

The Privacy Portal serves as a user interface to toggle between public and private tokens. COTI previously introduced a portal for its own network in May, allowing users to switch token privacy with one wallet action, supporting assets including COTI, wETH, wBTC, USDT, USDC.e, and wADA. However, it remains unclear if this asset list applies to the Avalanche environment.

COTI's cross-chain privacy approach was first proposed in 2024, aiming to provide privacy features on major blockchains without significantly altering their technical stacks. The core technology uses a Gable Circuit-based multi-party computation (MPC) system that allows multiple participants to perform computations on encrypted data without revealing input values, only showing results.

COTI claims its Gable Circuit technology is up to 3000 times faster and 250 times lighter than alternatives in their 2025 mainnet release materials. However, independent verification of these performance metrics for the Avalanche deployment has not been provided.

While public blockchains typically display transaction history and balances by default, privacy features could be useful for areas like payroll, corporate payments, and asset management where transaction amounts are sensitive to disclose. Avalanche also offers Encrypted ERC tokens that encrypt token balances and transfer amounts while keeping sender/receiver and timestamp public, with optional audit access permissions.

COTI emphasizes selective disclosure of information to auditors, regulators, or counterparties, balancing privacy with auditability. Similarly, Avalanche's Encrypted ERC supports selective access. The key differentiator for COTI may lie in implementation context and real-world adoption rather than just encryption methods.

COTI's Chief Marketing Officer Amateo Kaplan is scheduled to demonstrate Privacy-on-Demand at the upcoming Avalanche Summit 2026 in New York on May 16-17. It remains unclear whether this demonstration aligns with the actual mainnet deployment scope on Avalanche.
