Cybersecurity software shares rose broadly while some technology sectors including semiconductor stocks saw declines. Dow Jones News Wire reported Palo Alto Networks ($PANW) gained 13.09% to close at $372.76, while Qualys rose 15%, Fortinet up 8%, Okta up 11%, and CyberArk increased 14%. The report noted that buying interest in cybersecurity stocks followed a weekend call by Dario Amodei of Anthropic urging slower AI development speed, with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk reportedly agreeing with these concerns.
