Crypto Ecosystem Map: File Storage Rises 4.2%, Data Availability Plummets 14%

This week's crypto market saw file storage outperforming other sectors with a defensive 4.2% gain, while data availability and AI, DeFi, and bridges faced double-digit drops. According to Artemis' weekly FDV-weighted average, file storage rose +4.2%, the strongest among all sectors. Ethereum (+0.6%), data services (+0.4%), XRP (+0.2%), and social networks (+0.1%) also posted gains but with limited upside.

Declines widened from Bitcoin (-0.9%) through privacy coins (-1.6%), DeFi (-2.0%), utilities and services (-2.4%), gaming (-2.7%). Exchange tokens (-3.4%), Bitcoin ecosystem (-4.1%), smart contract platforms (-4.2%), and first-gen smart contracts (-4.9%) also saw moderate weakness. The steepest drops came from staking services (-5.6%), RWA tokenization (-5.9%), meme coins (-7.1%), oracles (-7.5%), value storage (-7.9%), derivatives DEX (-8.2%), NFT applications (-8.9%), AI (-12%), DeFi (-12%), bridges (-12%), and data availability (-14%)—all experiencing double-digit corrections.

The market split into five gainers and twenty losers, reflecting weaker risk appetite as capital flowed toward defensive sectors like file storage and select large networks rather than high-volatility growth areas.
