Crypto Market Sees $232.23 Million in Leveraged Positions Liquidated in 24 Hours

Within the past 24 hours, the cryptocurrency market experienced the liquidation of $232.23 million (approximately KRW 320.59 billion) in leveraged positions. Short position liquidations accounted for 85.51% of the total, which was 5.9 times higher than long position liquidations. According to CoinGlass, as of 8:00 PM KST on September 18, 2026, the total liquidation value across the top 20 cryptocurrencies over a 24-hour period amounted to $232.23 million (approximately KRW 320.59 billion). Long position liquidations totaled $33.66 million (approximately KRW 46.47 billion), while short position liquidations reached $198.57 million (approximately KRW 274.13 billion).

Over the same period, Bitcoin (BTC) rose 2.47% to $78,200 (approximately KRW 17.95 million), and Ethereum (ETH) increased by 3.21% to $2,512 (approximately KRW 3.47 million). Among major assets, Solana (SOL) gained 6.62%, Hyperliquid (HYPE) surged 13.59%, Zcash (ZEC) rose 9.93%, and XRP climbed 3.01%.

Bitcoin (BTC) was the top cryptocurrency in terms of 24-hour liquidation value, with $81.33 million (approximately KRW 112.28 billion) in liquidations, of which short positions accounted for 88%. Ethereum (ETH) followed with $51.92 million (approximately KRW 71.68 billion), 80% of which were short positions. Zcash (ZEC) saw $31.43 million (approximately KRW 43.39 billion) in liquidations, 86% of which were short positions. Solana (SOL) had $20.87 million (approximately KRW 28.81 billion) in liquidations, with 95% being short positions.
