Crypto VC Investment Surges 31% in Q2 to $5.68 Billion

According to Galaxy Digital's analysis of cryptocurrency and blockchain venture capital (VC) investments for the second quarter of 2026, VC funding reached approximately $5.68 billion (about KRW 7.8 trillion), a 31% increase from the previous quarter.
The report noted that total investments in crypto and blockchain companies amounted to 384 deals, up 10% from the prior quarter. Approximately 78% of the investment funds were concentrated on later-stage companies, with U.S.-based firms accounting for 73.5% of the total funding. The largest share went to exchange, trading, investment, and lending-related companies, which secured about $3.52 billion in investments. DeFi followed with approximately $478 million, while privacy/security, tokenization, AI, and infrastructure were identified as key investment sectors.
