Cryptocurrency Market Sees $176.3 Million in Leverage Positions Liquidated Over 24 Hours

Over the past 24 hours, $176.3 million (approximately KRW 236.7 billion) in leveraged positions were liquidated in the cryptocurrency market, according to CoinGlass data as of 4:56 a.m. KST on September 15, 2026. Short position liquidations accounted for 61.49% of total liquidations, nearly double the share of long positions.
Bitcoin (BTC) rose 2.34% to $79,037 over the same period, while Ethereum (ETH) gained 1.47% to $2,542. Among major assets, Solana (SOL) increased by 2.29%, XRP by 7.74%, Hyperliquid (HYPE) by 4.12%, and Zcash (ZEC) by 10.06%.
Bitcoin (BTC) was the top asset in terms of liquidation volume, with $70.5 million (approximately KRW 94.6 billion) liquidated—of which short positions accounted for 77%. Ethereum (ETH) saw $47.1 million ($632.5 million), Zcash (ZEC) $15.5 million ($208.5 million), XRP $10.9 million ($146.5 million), and Solana (SOL) $8.3 million ($111.4 million) in liquidations.
Other notable assets included Gold (XAU) with $5.6 million ($74.8 million) in long positions, Sandisk (SNDK) at $5.5 million ($73.6 million), and Dogecoin (DOGE) with $2.2 million ($29.0 million), both primarily driven by long positions.
