Cryptocurrency Market Sees $280 Million in Leverage Positions Liquidated in 24 Hours

Within the past 24 hours, $280.06 million (approximately KRW 377.3 billion) in leveraged positions were liquidated across the cryptocurrency market. Short position liquidations accounted for 68.67% of total liquidations, nearly double that of long positions. According to CoinGlass, as of 3:56 PM KST on September 15, 2026, the top 20 assets by 24-hour liquidation volume totaled $280.06 million (approximately KRW 377.3 billion), with long positions amounting to $87.76 million (KRW 118.2 billion) and short positions totaling $192.3 million (KRW 259.08 billion).

Over the same period, Bitcoin (BTC) closed at $77,213 (approximately KRW 14.02 million), down 0.47% over 24 hours, while Ethereum (ETH) traded at $2,482 (KRW 3.34 million), declining 1.30%. Among major assets, Solana (SOL) fell 0.66%, XRP rose 0.98%, Hyperliquid (HYPE) dropped 0.81%, and Zcash (ZEC) increased by 0.58%.

Ethereum (ETH) was the asset with the highest 24-hour liquidation volume at $128.92 million (KRW 173.68 billion), of which short positions accounted for 71%. Bitcoin (BTC) followed with $87.72 million (KRW 118.18 billion) in liquidations, 75% of which were shorts. XRP had $13.98 million (KRW 188.34 million) in liquidations at a 63% short ratio, while Zcash recorded $13.47 million (KRW 181.47 million) with an 83% short ratio. Solana saw $11.16 million (KRW 150.35 million) in liquidations at a 54% short ratio.

Other notable assets included Sandisk (SNDK) with $5.6 million (KRW 75.44 million) in long positions, gold (XAU) with $5.39 million (KRW 72.61 million) at a 90% long ratio, and SK Hynix (SKHYNIX) with $2.01 million (KRW 27.29 million) at an 87% long ratio.
