CZ's 'Clap' Boosts BNB Chain Token Price

Binance founder Changpeng 'CZ' Zhao praised the launch of BNB Chain's launchpad for the GENIUS token with a single clap emoji on Thursday. The GENIUS token price surged within hours.

Zhao later questioned whether his post influenced the price surge, stating he hadn't checked charts and mentioned the project's own product launch.

GENIUS Terminal is an on-chain trading platform for tokens running on BNB Chain. The platform launched its launchpad, genius.fun, on Thursday. Zhao only acknowledged it with a single clap emoji without further comment.

GENIUS price rose above $0.42 before experiencing some pullback over the next day. With a market cap of approximately $118 million, the token's small size allowed its price to fluctuate significantly from a single post. The token remains below its April high of $0.95.

Zhao disputed a user attributing the surge to him on Friday, stating he posts about projects making progress on BNB Chain.

His previous posts have moved small-cap BNB Chain markets before; in July, a notable post led one buyer to earn 357x returns on a token named after him.

Traders now closely watch his account as a market signal, whether intentional or not.
