Democratic Party Digital Asset Task Force Member: Crypto Taxation Required if Income Generated

Rep. Kang Jun-hyun of the Democratic Party stated in a Maeil Business Newspaper interview that 'whether it's stocks or cryptocurrencies, if there is income, taxes must be paid' as a principle regarding next year's virtual asset taxation plan. However, he added that tax reform is a sensitive issue requiring sufficient social consensus and prior communication to consider market contraction concerns.
Kang has served as the ruling party's parliamentary committee rapporteur for financial services and as a member of the Democratic Party's Digital Asset Task Force (TF), actively participating in discussions on drafting the Digital Asset Basic Act.
