Deutsche Bank to Launch Bitcoin Custody Service for Institutional Clients by End of 2026

Deutsche Bank is planning to launch custody services for Bitcoin (BTC) and digital assets targeting European institutional and corporate clients by the end of 2026, subject to completion of relevant regulatory procedures. In a statement released on the 16th, the bank outlined initial supported assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, EURC, and EURAU stablecoins and electronic currency tokens. The service will manage digital asset wallets and private keys on behalf of clients, enabling asset transfers to third parties. Initial target clients include enterprises, asset managers, hedge funds, custodian institutions, brokers, and sovereign wealth funds. The bank noted that supported assets, service scope, and launch timing may vary based on regulatory requirements, internal approvals, and client demand.
