Dunamu Partners with Kazakhstan on Digital Finance Infrastructure

Dunamu, operator of the cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, announced it has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kazakhstan's Alatau City Authority (ACA) and Alatau City Bank to advance digital finance infrastructure including real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, security token offerings (STO), and stablecoins.
The agreement was signed during the South-Kazakhstan Business Roundtable in Seoul on September 15, coinciding with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's official visit to South Korea. The event took place at the Seoul Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Key areas of collaboration include exploring RWA tokenization and STO applications, as well as assessing the potential for stablecoins and payment solutions within digital finance frameworks. Dunamu will provide technical expertise in tokenization solutions and digital infrastructure development.
Alatau City Authority will support regulatory environment analysis and explore pilot project opportunities, while Alatau City Bank will examine legal requirements, regulatory compliance, and business viability to connect digital assets with traditional financial systems.
The MOU represents Dunamu's expansion beyond domestic cryptocurrency exchange operations into global government and financial institution partnerships in tokenized finance infrastructure. However, specific product launches or pilot project timelines remain undetermined.
"This agreement has the potential to contribute to the development of global financial infrastructure," said Choi Won-seok, Dunamu's Global Business Chief (CGBO) Deputy Executive Officer. "We aim to establish new standards for domestic digital asset technology in the global market."
