Dunamu Signs MOU for Digital Financial Infrastructure Development with Kazakhstan's Alatau City

Dunamu (CEO Oh Kyung-seok), operator of the cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, announced on the 16th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kazakhstan's Alatau City Development Agency and Alatau City Bank to develop digital financial infrastructure in Kazakhstan. The signing took place during the 'Korea-Kazakhstan Business Roundtable' held at Seoul's Grand Hyatt Hotel on the 15th, coinciding with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan's official visit to South Korea.

The key focus areas of this collaboration include exploring the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) and the potential use of security tokens (STO). The three organizations will also explore cooperation in stablecoins, payment solutions, and other digital financial tools. Under the agreement, Dunamu will provide technical expertise for tokenization solutions and building digital infrastructure. The Alatau City Development Agency will support regulatory environment analysis and coordinate with relevant government bodies on potential regulations and pilot projects. Alatau City Bank will assess the feasibility of integrating RWA, stablecoins, payment solutions, and other digital assets with traditional financial systems.

Oh Won-seok, Dunamu's Global Business Executive Vice President, stated that this agreement signifies the contribution of Dunamu's digital asset technology to global financial infrastructure development. He added that Dunamu aims to play various roles in creating new standards for South Korea's digital asset financial technology in the global market.

Aliysh Almatov, Director of the Alatau City Development Agency, emphasized that developing digital financial infrastructure is a crucial direction for building a new urban economy in Alatau City. He expressed hope that through collaboration with Dunamu and Alatau City Bank, they can pilot global-level technology-driven financial infrastructure. He also noted that Alatau City's top priority is creating a safe environment to introduce innovative solutions and attract investment.
