Dunamu Signs MOU with Kazakh Authorities to Advance Digital Finance Infrastructure

Dunamu (operator of Upbit) announced on April 16 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kazakhstan’s special administration body Alatau City Authority (ACA), Alatau City Bank, to advance the development of digital financial infrastructure in Kazakhstan.
The signing took place during the Korea-Kazakhstan Business Roundtable held on April 15 at Seoul's Grand Hyatt Hotel, coinciding with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s official visit to South Korea.
Key areas of cooperation include exploring the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) and the use of security tokens (STO), alongside potential collaboration on stablecoins, payment solutions, and other digital financial instruments. Under the agreement, Dunamu will provide technical expertise in tokenization and digital infrastructure setup, ACA will support regulatory environment analysis and coordinate with government bodies for pilot projects, and Alatau City Bank will assess the feasibility of integrating RWA, stablecoins, and payment solutions into traditional finance systems.
Choi Won-seok, Dunamu’s Global Business Executive Vice President, stated that Korean digital asset financial technology aims to set new global standards through continued collaboration. Aliyar Abdykadyrov, Director of Alatau City Authority, expressed confidence in leveraging Dunamu's technical expertise to build globally competitive financial infrastructure for future pilot applications.
