Ethereum Developers Warn of Sepolia Testnet Attack Vulnerability

Ethereum developers have warned of a potential attack that could interfere with the Sepolia block creation process during the Glammasterdam test phase, according to CoinDesk. Hackers could exploit free testnet ETH and one-time builder identities to win bids for Sepolia blocks without submitting actual transaction data. While such an attack would not affect funds on Ethereum's mainnet, it could disrupt testing of Glammasterdam's infrastructure and related features. The Sepolia public test is scheduled to begin October 6, with the Hood Test tentatively planned for October 27; the mainnet deployment date remains undetermined.
