Fair Trade Commission Says Crypto Exchange Equity Limits Don't Conflict with Fair Trade Law

The Fair Trade Commission has stated that regulations restricting equity stakes in virtual asset (digital asset) exchanges do not conflict with the Fair Trade Act, according to Digital Asset.
According to a report submitted by the National Assembly Legislative Research Institute to Rep. Park Min-gyu's office on May 15, the Commission viewed the regulation as "a measure aimed at ensuring fairness through the dispersion of ownership due to industry characteristics, while the Fair Trade Act aims to secure the alignment of ownership and responsibility within holding company systems." The Commission concluded that these are separate regulatory measures pursuing different policy objectives, making it difficult to view them as legally conflicting.
