Former China Construction Bank Asia Manager Admits Accepting $470,000 in USDT Bribe

A former client manager at China Construction Bank (Asia) has admitted to accepting more than $470,000 (approximately 633 million won) in Tether (USDT) as a bribe. Hong Kong courts are scheduled to issue the verdict on October 18. The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) revealed in a statement that the defendant colluded with fintech company employees and accomplices to authenticate false documents without bank approval, using them as guarantees for insurance-related investment transactions.

The case came to light through an internal investigation by China Construction Bank (Asia), which reported the corruption to ICAC and cooperated with the investigation. The defendant remains detained by Hong Kong authorities pending sentencing.
